46 • RV PRO • JUNE 2016 rv-pro.com Star brite has big plans for the RV market. Currently, about 5 percent of the supplier's business comes from the RV market. However, that's expected to change in a big way when the company launches a number of new prod- ucts later this year. For the moment, company officials are keeping those new products under wraps, but they have dropped some telling hints. "We are currently in the process of devel- oping four new products that will be RV specific, which will make their debut at RVAA," says Eric Hahn, director of sales and marketing for Star brite. "They are products that will round out our core chemical and wax and polish offerings." Meanwhile, Star brite also is hard at work reformulating, renaming and re-launching many of its core cleaning, chemical and environmental products already offered on the marine side to address the needs of the RV industry today – such as its awning cleaner, wash and wax, and polishes. In addition to the marine industry, Star brite also serves the motorcycle, aviation and home care markets, and Hahn says there's a lot of crossover application in its products. "We can use the same technologies from our other categories for the RV market. We blend and package all of our products which allows us to create RV-specific products," Hahn says. What's more, Star brite also plans to launch its Performacide hard-surface disinfectant line into the RV market. Hahn says the EPA-reg- istered disinfectants can be used against every- thing from Salmonella to the Ebola virus, and are safe to use anywhere including bathrooms, kitchens, workspaces and hospitals. The key to the products, he says, is chlorine dioxide, which safely kills germs and viruses without leaving a toxic film behind like many disinfectants or bleach.
