76 • RV PRO • JUNE 2016 rv-pro.com be available on the Mountain Aire, London Aire and Essex on a cost-neutral basis. Dealers will have to select a chassis when ordering these brands, as there will be no standard chassis. Midway RV carries the Newmar line up to the London Aire, so Midway's Bal- last said his customers will have to wait to get their hands on the digital dashboard until it shows up in the other models. Still, he was pleased with the options and new floorplans Newmar offered across the board. "There wasn't some of the dramatic changes they have some years; however, everything still got refreshed," Ballast said. "In several models – the bath and a half has been popular over the past few years – but several models they've come out with family friendly bunk bed floor- plans that actually have two full baths, so that second bath even has a shower in it. That makes great sense to me for the family market they're catering to." By the Numbers During his opening speech, Sammut d e t a i l e d h o w Ne w m a r 's p r o d u c t s increased sales during 2015. Data from Statistical Surveys high- lighted the growth, which was somewhat surprising given Newmar's corporate cul- ture stressing quality over growth as well as the price points of its vehicles. According to Sammut, the overall market for gas Class A motorhomes grew 17.3 percent. Newmar's gas motorhome business increased 14.4 percent, just slightly less than the growth in this segment. The overall Class A diesel motor- home market grew 5.5 percent during the 2015 calendar year. Newmar's sales in the segment grew 39 percent – the largest growth of any diesel Class A manufacturer, according to Sammut, who also noted that in the 2015 calendar year Newmar rose to the No. 2 position in the Class A diesel motorhome market. Tim Williams of Gatorland (right) stands by as some Newmar guests handle an alligator during the show. In addition to Williams' presentation, dealers heard from former Notre Dame football Coach Lou Holtz at the event's opening reception.
