78 • RV PRO • JUNE 2016 rv-pro.com Heartland Opens Idaho Plant Production is in full swing at Heartland RVs' new plant in Nampa, Idaho, as the company marked a milestone in April with its first unit shipped to Blue Dog RV in nearby Post Falls. "It was a testament to our Nampa team that we were able to roll out production right on schedule," said Coley Brady, vice president of sales for the Elkhart, Ind.- based Thor Industries' subsidiary. "We will continue to up production to fulfill our backlog of West Coast orders that currently runs into late August. It's a significant step and confirms that the Idaho location truly represents a difference maker for Heartland." The 248,000-square-foot facility, situated on 25 acres in Nampa, pro- vides Heartland with a gateway into the lucrative West Coast mar- ketplace, eliminating costly freight charges and opening new relation- ship-building opportunities with key dealers in the region. Initially, the Nampa facility will focus on the lightweight laminated Wilderness line, with plans to add a second pro- duction line for Cruiser RV and Sundance laminated travel trailer lines in early 2017. NEWS of Note Erwin Hymer Group Hires Snell as VP of Sales & Service Erwin Hymer Group North America, manufacturer of Roadtrek motorhomes, has hired Mike Snell as its vice president of sales and service for its motorized line. Snell comes to the Erwin Hymer Group with more than 23 years of experience in the RV Industry, most recently working as a senior sales executive with brands such as Monaco, Holiday Rambler and R-Vision. Snell joins Roadtrek sales veteran Paul Cassidy on the sales team. Cassidy will be taking on the role of VP of sales and service for the company's towables line of product, a segment he knows well, having spent many years in the towables market. Priority RV Names Board Members for 2016 The Recreational Dealer Cooperative Association/Priority RV Network announced it has elected Andy Heck for a two-year term on its seven-member board of direc- tors at its recent annual meeting. Heck, president and CEO, oversees three Alpin Haus RV dealerships in New York. He is a past RVDA chairman of the board and has been the recipient of numerous dealership awards for dealer excellence. Heck replaces long-time board member Steve Plemmons, president and CEO of Bill Plemmons RV in North Carolina. In addition to Heck, board members Michael Peay, president of Holiday World Group of dealerships in Texas and New Mexico, and Mike Regan, president of Crestview RV Texas, were re-elected for two-year board terms. The board maintained the same officers in 2016. Peay will serve as chairman of the board. Regan will remain president and work with Corey Ruzicka, Priority RV Network's executive director, on a daily basis. Greg Lala, CEO/president of Dixie RV Superstores, will remain as the group's vice-president. Long-time board member, Mark Bretz, CEO/president of Bretz RV & Marine, will remain as treasurer. Brian Wilkins, RVDA chairman of the Board and CEO/President of Wilkins RV, will remain as secretary. Steve Richardson, CalRVDA president and president of Richardson's RV Centers, will continue to serve on the board as a director. The network now consists of 74 dealer shareholders with 110 locations nation- wide. The dealers run the network. Blue Ox Hires Henry as Mid-Atlantic Territory Sales Rep Laura Henry recently joined Blue Ox as an outside sales representative for the Mid-Atlantic territory and will be serving RV dealers in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania for truck and performance. Prior to joining the B l u e O x t e a m , H e n r y had a successful career, starting in 1988 as office manager at Stag-Parkway in Hanover, Md., facility. She worked her way up in the company, earning several promotions for outstanding performance, eventually being promoted to regional sales manager for the Northeast. "I have known Laura for several years and have always admired the relation- ships she has built with the dealers. This is an integral part of our company and she most definitely promotes the values to which aspire each day. I cannot be happier that she has joined the Blue Ox family," said Blue Ox President and CEO Ellen Kietzmann.
