In stark contrast to its younger counterparts, The Lakota displays years' worth of wear and tear from the sea and the elements with quiet pride. THIS PAGE: Russell Gray, a Beacon Marine Basin worker, and his many tools of the trade. Boats have never been built at Beacon Marine Basin, but the site has been used for rigging and for the installation of boats' engines. A full machine shop once housed in the building was well equipped for the tasks.
