THIS PAGE: Fishing gear lies at the ready for its next deployment. Part of the present-day Beacon was in its earlier life used as a fish smokehouse; some who know the property well say the scent still lingers in the building. Whatever purposes Beacon has served over past decades, hints of bygone eras and personalities passing through are evident throughout—in this case, a Bart Simpson decal on a vessel's exterior, and a philosophical musing scrawled on a wall. "When a man is to [sic] busy to go fishing, he is just to [sic] godamn busy," reads one written on the wall of Austin "A. A." Dorr's tool shed. OPPOSITE PAGE: Weathered wooden stairs lead the way to the water.
