AUTO ART CONTEST COMMERCIAL VEHICLE PL AC E COMMERCIAL VEHICLE When Hardee's restaurant introduced new menu items, it decided to promote these new offerings through the use of a van wrap and turned to Stephen Sinek, owner and lead designer of Seven Sin Design, to create this graphic. Before Sinek began working on this van wrap, which was printed using the HP DesignJet 5000 onto 3M IJ180Cv3 and fi nished with a 3M gloss laminate, Hardee's sent him images of previous wraps, he says. To keep with the wrap's original look, Sinek incorporated fl ames into the design, but he took a slightly different approach. Stephen Sinek Seven Sin Design Phoenix "One challenge in the design was to bring in some other design elements without distracting from the food images," Sinek says. "Their previous wraps all had realistic fl ames, but I opted to go a different route with the cleaner ghosted fl ames. I felt that this also tied in better with the steam that was added to the images." Along with the food images, Sinek incorporated Hardee's logo in a way that promi- nently promoted the brand, he says. The minimalist design simply brought more attention to the promotional items while keeping the traditional branding elements in plain sight, and the client loved the end result. "Hardee's approved it right away, and I didn't have to do any revisions," Sinek says. "I liked that it was very clean and attention grabbing." Mid-J SIGN & DIGITAL GRAPHICS
