As a high school basketball coach in the early 1980's, I first became a fan of NC State during their run to the NCAA Men's Bas- ketball Championship in 1983. Little did I know that 12 years later my job would result in a transfer to Tobacco Road. When we first arrived in North Carolina we split our college allegiance among the Triangle universities. But in 2001, my oldest son decided he wanted to attend NC State. As soon as he was accepted, we unloaded everything blue. From the day he entered State, we became Wolf- pack for life. Why did you decide to get involved with the Wolfpack Club? Again, this ties back to my oldest son, Ryan. As an inbound freshman my son decided he was going to become a member of the Power Sound of the South. With recognition that my son would be playing in front of fans at Wolfpack football games, we immediately decided we needed to be season ticket hold- ers and joined the Wolfpack Club. Why should someone that's not a member join the Wolfpack Club? For a sports fan, you couldn't ask for a better association. The Wolfpack Club is a key contributor to the future of NC State athletics. NC State features top-notch, educa- tionally sound athletic programs, terrific and ever-expanding facilities, and dedicated student-athletes and coaches. Becoming a Wolfpack Club member, you truly become part of something greater than yourself, joining people who share your appreciation for everything Wolfpack. And, of course, it's fun! Do you have any favorite game-day traditions? We really have no single tradi- tion, but we do have a lot of rituals. Of course, we tailgate, which includes a Wolfpack customized trailer that we tow to many State football games. A large stuffed Mr. Wuf always rides to an event situated as a hood ornament on our car, and you will never see us at any event with anything less than full Wolfpack attire. Who is your favorite all-time student-athlete? We really enjoy following all of the student-athletes as they progress from their college to their professional careers. That said, Philip Rivers will always be a favorite since we've been able to actively follow him through every aspect of his college and pro career. Honorable mentions go to T.J. Warren and Carlos Rodon. Donor Spotlight Brad Francis with his wife, Cherie Brad Francis Hometown: Cary, N.C.
