With the posting of the position last week the countdown has begun for the Township of Rideau Lakes to have a new trea- surer this fall. Applications close on August 26 for the position which was left vacant after the departure of Joe Whyte in June. The evaluation team for the position includes Mayor Ron Holman, the CAO Mike Dwyer, Coun- cilors Arie Hoogenboom and Ron Pollard and the Counties treasurer. The advertisement for the job, among other qual- ifications, calls for the candidate to be a proven communicator who can enhance financial literacy and raise the financial dis- course within the organi- zation and across the pub- lic. The salary listed for the position is $85,798 – 100,939 including a com- petitive benefit package and OMERS membership. The Review-Mirror August 4, 2016 – 16 Township begins search for new treasurer The Wolfe Lake Asso- ciation is having its annual general meeting next Sat- urday, August 13 at the Lions Beach Club House. Registration begins at 10:00 am with the busi- ness meeting beginning at 10:30. A potluck lunch at noon follows the meeting. The group is always looking for the support of new members around the lake to contribute to the association's work which includes shoal markers and water quality issues, including the influx to the lake of Eurasian Milfoil. Association president Paul Thompson has esti- mated that an average of 78 families out of the 200 or so cottages or residence on Wolfe Lake have paid dues to the cottage associ- ation. Nominations are now being accepted for the Bill Thake Memorial Econom- ic Development Leader- ship Award. The deadline for submissions is Friday, September 30. The award is presented each year to an individual volunteer who has shown outstanding committment to economic development resulting in the growth and vitality of the Leeds Grenville region. The individual may be involved with local Eco- nomic Development Com- mittees, Chambers of Commerce, industry asso- ciations or other economic development activities. The winner will be announced at the annual Leeds Grenville Economic Development Summit on Friday, November 18 at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. The Leeds Grenville Immigration Partnership is also accepting nomina- tions for the second annu- al Leeds Grenville Immi- grant Entrepreneur award. The deadline for submis- sions is Friday, September 16. Nominations being accepted for Bill Thake Memorial Award Wolfe Lake AGM Saturday, Aug. 13 At the Lombardy Fair on Saturday Doubleback, includ- ing Shawn McCullough, left, and Wade Foster, was Sat- urday night's featured entertainment on the Main Stage. They will be back to the fairgrounds on September 24 for the agricultural society's barn dance and dinner.
