A New York tech start-up is banking on it. When companies sign up for Rocketrip's online travel incentive platform, their employees are given a personalized 'Budget to Beat' for each business trip they take. Workers who spend less than their trip budget can earn reward points redeemable for gift cards, cash cards and travel perks. The platform uses big data technology to rack up big savings for clients. Algorithms create a travel budget for each employee by integrating their company's travel policy with real-time pricing and availability data on flights and hotels. Rocketrip also provides customers with analytic insights into their overall travel spending and employee travel behaviour patterns.
