GOLFING FOR GOOD DALLAS—GSG hosts its annual Hank Granberry Golf Classic Tour- nament, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at the Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Texas. This tour- nament is held in honor of Hank Granberry, father of GSG President Mark Granberry, who passed away of pancreatic cancer. The event raises funds to benefit PanCAN and the Southwestern Medical Center, two organizations that are dedicated to pancreatic cancer research and treatment. To date, this event has collected more than $60,000. There will also be a pretournament party held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, at the Stonebriar. The certification process tests the products and certifies that harmful substances are not present. The Product Class I designation certifies that the limits are met for children's wear. OEKO-TEX Certified PADDLING TOWARD RECOVERY CAMBRIDGE AND SHARON, Mass.— Charles River Apparel purchases and donates a dragon boat to The Wellness Warriors, Mas- sachusetts's only dragon boat team for cancer survivors and caregivers, in a special ceremony. The ceremony began with words from the team's president, Sandra Tise, followed by a toast given by Barry Lipsett, president and owner of Charles River Apparel, and a special dragon eye-dotting ritual. The boat was then purified and blessed by The Venerable Miao Wei from the Greater Boston Buddhist Cultural Canter, before members of the team and attending guests boarded the boat for its maiden voyage. Formed as a non-profit in 2009, the Wellness Warriors is a paddling support team for men and women of all ages, diagnosed with various types of cancer. The team includes more than 50 members who participate in a variety of dragon boat races on the east coast, and is run entirely by volunteers. In addition to providing free office space and marketing support, Charles River Apparel is the official apparel sponsor of the Wellness Warriors.
