Why take the extra step and not just screen print it to the shirt in the first place? The customer who comes back for one more shirt. While this is a universally relatable advantage of printing a few extra transfer sheets while the screen is on-press or ordering a few extra sheets from your screen-printed transfer supplier, it's cer- tainly not the only advantage. For the business of performance wear and heat-sensitive fabrics, screen-printed transfers solve a big issue: scorching. The ability to print multiple colors and only cure on the garment once with a heat press helps to alleviate risk in the process. Low-temperature adhesives also allow the transfer to bond to the garment fibers with minimal heat, time, and pressure. While low-temperature screen-printed transfers work well on 100 percent poly performance wear, other heat-sensitive, lightweight garments such as tri-blends, burnouts, and slub cotton are driving demand. For the beginner, it just seems simpler. No special mixing of inks, cata- lysts, figuring out tension, or mesh count; instead, you simply place and press. Another opportunity with screen-printed transfers includes the ability to gang sheet designs. Ganging refers to grouping mul- tiple designs in the same colors across a transfer sheet. When the screen-printed transfer is printed, the screen is burned with multiple images. Once the ink is printed and semi-cured onto paper, the designs can be trimmed apart and used across multiple garments or multiple placements on one garment without having to rotate and re- register a screen. This advantage can present This hoodie with Panther Pride was created with five unique print areas using just a single screen- printed transfer. Each placement was applied in as little as 4 seconds each, making this full look take less than 30 seconds under the heat press from start to finish. Utilizing each area of person- alization creates a garment that can sell for increased profit. Refilling Made Easy www.franmar.com 1.800.538.5069 Our innovative packaging makes refilling a snap.
