RECRUITMENT 48 the Groundsman November 2015 Visit www.iog.org for more information and digital editions Full-time – 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday – Friday Some weekend and evening work as required The position requires you to be a senior member of the Grounds Team where you will assist with the timely preparation and maintenance in good condition of the School sports pitches, sports equipment and other grounds areas. It is a physically demanding job. The School will invest in the training and further development for this post. This will be achieved by the following duties and responsibilities: • Assisting with preparation of sports pitches in good time for the sport to be played in the coming term. • Setting out sports equipment such as hockey goals, rugby posts, tennis nets etc., appropriately, ahead of games and storing safely away when not in use. • Supporting the maintenance of the Cricket squares by seeding, aerating, consoli dating, cutting the grass and by other means according to weather conditions at the time to ensure that they are in the best condition for the cricket season. • Line marking sports pitches in advance of games, sports matches and other events. • Undertaking training in the use of all machinery & maintenance in addition to any Health & Safety matters associated with the position. • Daily checks on the indoor swimming pool will be part of the responsibility and training will be provided.
