The First Look
Culture Change
After the dismissal of Darrell Hazell on Oct. 16, interim head coach Gerad
Parker (far right) knew he had to make a few tweaks to get his players'
attention. One adjustment was to speed up the Boilermakers' tempo. At the
Nebraska game, assistant director of sports performance Grant Geib (front
center) and the coaches and players run to the other side of the field at the end
of the third quarter. It is similar to what Parker had incorporated in practice
earlier in the week when, the Boilermakers hustled from station to station
during drills. It worked well as the Boilermakers stretched No. 8 Nebraska to
the limit in Parker's first game.
