Board of Directors Election Results New officers and executive committee members were elected during the annual STAR Board of Directors meeting held October 18-19 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The elected directors started their one-year terms immediately following the board meeting. The STAR executive committee is made up of the officers of the organization and three other elected directors, who serve as at-large members of the committee. STAR COO Named to IIHF Facilities Committee Jeff Theiler, STAR Chief Operating Officer, was recently re-appointed to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Facilities Committee for the 2017-2020 term. Theiler had served on the Facilities Committee as a USA Hockey representative during the previous four-year term (2013-2016). Record Year for Regional Training Programs The 2016 STAR Regional Training Program (RTP) season recently wrapped up, and total course attendance reached an all-time high. In addition to the 14th Annual North American Rink Conference and Expo (NARCE) held in May, STAR also held operations and management courses at 21 different locations around the United States over the months of March through November. Total attendance for the 2016 RTP's was more than 300 students. Applications to host a 2017 RTP will be sent to all STAR Facility Members in December.
