available to start their next dispatch assign-
ment.
Trip Insight will be available for com-
mercial release in the first quarter of 2017,
Wangler said, but will be offered only
to fleet customers who use TMW Suite,
PeopleNet and ALK CoPilot.
Trip Insight will not be available to fleets
that use a dispatch or mobile platform not
from Trimble – at least not for the time
being.
"What we do with it going forward re-
ally is dependent on the market," Wangler
said. "At this time next year, we will report
back."
Richard Hanke Jr., an owner of Slinger,
Wis.-based bulk transporter Hanke Truck-
ing, will not be able to use Trip Insight
yet. Hanke Trucking has TMW Suite but
uses a mobile platform that competes with
PeopleNet.
Aer listening to McLaughlin and
Wangler talk about the Trimble vision and
products, Hanke told CCJ he does not plan
to switch to PeopleNet from the fleet's cur-
rent solution — at least not yet.
"I would hate to throw all my eggs in
one basket, but they
make it appealing,"
he said.
