The NHL JACOB TROUBA ENDS HIS HOLDOUT IN WINNIPEG Jacob Trouba returned to the ice Nov. 11 in Winnipeg's 3-2 OT loss to Colorado, ending a contract dispute after signing a two-year bridge deal worth $6 million. He played 29 shifts and impressed, notching two shots on goal and three blocked shots in the loss. "He was far better than I was ex- pecting — not based on him, but just being out of the lineup as long as he has," head coach Paul Maurice told The Winnipeg Sun. "To step into a game, I liked an awful lot of what he did. "He kept it simple at times, but it looked like he was trying to jump up and join the rush. I was really pleased with his game." Trouba spent his off time skating with the Michigan team and the U.S. National Development Team Pro- gram, as well as his personal skills coach. "I didn't know too much what to expect," Trouba said. "Obviously, there is some adjusting, but overall I thought it went pretty well. "I like having the ice time. It was something I wanted to be ready for when I was back, and I'm pretty proud of how well-conditioned I stayed." Trouba notched six goals and 21 points in 81 games last year.
