Falk Ingredients: 1 quart orange sherbet 2 quarts fresh orange juice 1 (2 L) bottle ginger ale (chilled) 2 (750 ml) bottles champagne (chilled) Directions: Refrigerate the orange juice, ginger ale, and champagne. Once everything's chilled, put the block of sherbet in a large punch bowl and pour the orange juice on top of the sherbet. Repeat with the ginger ale and lastly the champagne. Gently stir, mixing the liquids and creating a foamy layer on top. Serve immediately. Appetizer: Sweet Party Mix Recipe by BOBBI POTE Ingredients: 1 (12 oz.) package crispy corn and rice cereal 5 oz. almonds (slivered) 6 oz. pecans (toasted and chopped) 3/4 cup butter 3/4 cup dark corn syrup 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar Directions: Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F and lightly grease a large roasting pan. Mix the crispy corn and rice cereal, slivered almonds and toasted/chopped pecans in a large bowl. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix melted butter with the dark corn syrup and light brown sugar. Pour this over the cereal mix and shake to coat everything. Pour into the roasting pan and bake for 1 hour, stirring about every 15 minutes. Cool on wax paper and enjoy. Dinner: New Year's Eve Chicken Wings Recipe by Keri Ingredients: cooking spray 2 quarts vegetable oil (for frying) 5 pounds chicken wings (separated at joints, tips discarded) 1 cup hot wing sauce 1 pound carrots (cut into sticks) 6 ribs celery (cut into sticks) 2 cups blue cheese salad dressing Directions: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and coat a baking sheet with cooking spray. Heat the oil in a big pot or deep fryer to 375 degrees F. Rinse the wings and use paper towels to thoroughly pat them dry. Deep-fry the wings in groups of 5 or 6 until they're partially cooked (about 10 minutes), then drain on paper towels and let them slightly cool. Return the wings to the hot oil and fry a second time until golden brown (6 to 8 minutes per group). Drain again on paper towels, transfer the wings to a large mixing bowl, and toss with hot wing sauce. Use tongs to lay the wings on the baking sheet in a single layer, and brush with any leftover sauce. Bake until the surface of the wings is nearly dry (about 15 minutes), then serve with carrot sticks, celery sticks, and blue cheese dressing. Dessert: Mini Cheesecakes II Recipe by Mercedes Ingredients: 12 vanilla wafers 2 (8 oz.) packages softened cream cheese 1/2 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 eggs Directions: Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. Line your muffin tin with foil liners and put one vanilla wafer in each. Thoroughly blend the cream cheese, vanilla, and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed, then add eggs and mix well. Pour over the wafers, filling each liner 3/4 full. Bake for 25 minutes and let the cheesecakes cool before removing them. Chill and top with fruit, preserves, chocolate, etc, when you're ready to serve!
