Even though the quality and capabilities of the ink have largely progressed since the late 90s and early 00s, there there is always room for improvement. One such challenge still facing D2 printers going forward is figuring out how to better integrate the technology into shops to maximize production capabilities. "I've worked with a range of D2 printers from smaller individuals to large dot-com companies producing hundreds of shirts a day," Landes- man says. "Those looking to get into D2 printing need to make sure they partner with someone who thoroughly understands D2 technol- ogy and the best ways to scale production." As the capabilities of D2 printing continue to expand, decorators will be able to shift their focus to the needs of their clients and spend less time working on the printer. "The attention on the past was more focused on if a manufacturer could create something," Bagley says. "Now, manufacturers need to pay more at- tention to the user base and what their needs are."
