He enlisted in WWI in February 1916, with the 156th (Leeds & Grenville) Overseas Battalion, Cana- dian Expeditionary Force. Wilfred served in a number of battalions and participated in the Battle of Passchendaele. He was discharged from service in 1919. Wilfred died in 1964, three years after the museum opened. At the museum we have his war decorations which include the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.
