GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 27, ISSUE 3 26 including interim head coach Gerad Parker, the former re- ceivers coach, and secondary assistant Taver Johnson. Whoever the assistants, Purdue is likely to offer multi- year contracts, a change from its previous philosophy of giving only one-year deals. "I think it's about really getting the best people that want to come here, they understand the expectations, the challenge that we have," Jeff Brohm said. "They're going to have to want to come in and work at it and be creative and believe in the same beliefs that I believe in of how to practice and how to motivate young men and how to be there for them and how to create an environment where they can achieve success. Everyone always wants to hear names, and that's all great because there are a lot of great coaches out there. But I think you have to have the right combination of people who understand what they're get- ting themselves into, that want to be here." Brohm also will be afforded an expanded off-the-field staff, per Bobinski, with additional resources devoted to- ward support personnel. Brohm already brought in Justin Lovett as the program's new strength and conditioning coach; he might oversee a staff of four, one more than Pur- due had previously. Purdue also will have more supporting pieces — in recruiting, player personnel and analysts — as well. "Whoever we get needs to be quality," Bobinski said. "We need to have a great coaching staff. We need to have a great player personnel area. We need to have a great strength and conditioning (staff). All of those areas have to be populated with top-shelf, high-performing people. That's what we've talked about from Day 1." j Gold and Black Illustrated • 2605 Yeager Rd • West Lafayette, IN 47906 • 1-800-876-4678 Visit the store at GoldandBlackDigital.com for this and other great Purdue Fan items!
