Munters, BRR Announce Partnership I n a licensed arrangement with BRR Technologies, Munters introduces a new patented desiccant dehumidification unit for ice rinks that uses waste heat from the existing refrigeration plant to reactivate the desiccant wheel instead of natural gas. Arenas can save thousands of dollars per month in utility costs by eliminating their gas bill. The new desiccant dehumidification product delivers low dew-point air to prevent fogging, dripping, and other moisture related problems for ice rinks. The unit is applicable for new and retrofit arenas. To learn about the technology or get a quote, email drycoolinfo@munters.com or call 210-249-3818. Zamboni and its employees proudly delivered machine number 8,500 to the city of Kitchener, Ontario in Canada. Z amboni ice resurfacing machine number 8,500 was delivered to the city of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The skating rink at Kitchener's city hall received the machine, a Zamboni Model 440, in March of 2007. The facility is one of seven ice arenas in Kitchener and is home to the OHL Kitchener Rangers hockey team. Gary Collins, the Supervisor of Arenas for the city of Kitchener said, "This resurfacer replaced a 1993 Model 440. This machine was our first dual fuel (natural gas & propane) resurfacer which is still in operation today. After the first year of use, we were very impressed by the dual fuel machine. Therefore, as we replaced other ice resurfacers, natural gas with propane backup became standard." Richard Zamboni, the president of the Zamboni Company and son of Frank J. Zamboni said, "We're pleased to have had the opportunity to deliver the milestone machine to Kitchener. They have a long history of community interest in ice sports and have been supportive of our product. We're proud to have our machines on their ice." Zamboni Delivered Machine #8,500
