"Coach Brown has been to my school a couple of times, and he has a ton of knowledge of the area up here and played a huge role in getting me to Michigan," Stueber said. "I think it's great that Coach Brown is bringing players from our region to a place like Michigan. "Coach Drevno is great. I love talk- ing with him about my position. I've watched film with him, and it's always so insightful." With both Drevno and Brown each running a side of the ball in Ann Arbor, Michigan football should be very com- petitive for the foreseeable future — on the field and on the recruiting trail. WOLVERINE COMMITS IN ALL-STAR GAMES The Under Armour All-America Game took place Jan. 1 in Orlando, Fla., and six future Wolverines were involved in the action. Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage four-star offensive tackle Kai-Leon Herbert (Rivals.com's No. 25 offensive tackle and No. 250 overall prospect nationally) and Para- mus (N.J.) Catholic four-star outside linebacker Drew Singleton (Rivals' No. 4 outside linebacker and No. 52 overall prospect) arrived later in the week, but did not play due to injuries. Detroit Cass Tech three-star Jaylen Kelly-Powell (Rivals' No. 34 safety) also failed to record a stat. Warwick (R.I.) Bishop Hendricken three-star Kwity Paye (Rivals' No. 34 weakside defen- sive end) registered one tackle for a loss and was also credited with a quarter- back hurry. Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal four-star Luiji Vilain (Rivals' No. 5 weakside de- fensive end and No. 74 overall pros- pect) showed very well and notched three tackles and three quarterback hurries. Rivals selected Vilain as one of the top dozen players of the Un- der Armour All-America Game week, writing: "He used that great speed that we've seen but showed more power than expected and it caught the offen- sive linemen by surprise. Vilain was consistently one of the best defensive ends in Orlando and got a lot of pres- sure on quarterbacks in the game." Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four- star Cesar Ruiz (Rivals' No. 1 center and No. 41 overall prospect) earned the starting nod for his team and played plenty of snaps. While the Under Armour contest got most of the attention on New Year's Day, Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic four-star James Hudson was compet- ing down in Atlanta in the Offense- Defense All-American Bowl. Hudson (Rivals' No. 8 strongside defensive end and No. 240 prospect overall) recorded three tackles, including one for loss, in the contest. A week later, six more Wolverines were in action for the U.S. Army All- American Bowl in San Antonio. Aledo (Texas) High four-star Chuck Filiaga (Rivals' No. 16 offensive tackle and No. 175 overall player) didn't leave a mark in the box score as a blocker for the West team, but he will be remem- bered for pledging to the Wolverines on live television. A pair of wide receivers in Cheshire (Conn.) Academy four-star Tarik Black (Rivals' No. 11 wide receiver and No. 76 overall prospect) and Detroit Cass Tech five-star Donovan Peoples-Jones (Rivals' No. 1 wide receiver and No. 12 overall player) lined up for the East team and had a minimal impact on the game. Black caught one pass for 11 yards, while Peoples-Jones contributed two catches for 22 yards. Detroit Martin Luther King four-star Ambry Thomas (Rivals' No. 15 cor- nerback and No. 146 prospect over- all) played sparingly for the East team. Flint (Mich.) Southwestern Academy three-star Deron Irving-Bey (Rivals' No. 18 strongside defensive end) didn't find his way on to the field much either. Finally, Highlands Ranch (Colo.)
