3 DENVER CATHOLIC | FEBRUARY 11-24, 2017 Vatican Notes Planning Your Will and Special Gifts Personally – Leave a legacy of what matters to you most. Financially – Wisely manage the assets that God has entrusted to you, in full compliance with the doctrine of the Catholic Church. Spiritually – Strengthen our parishes and our Catholic community through your charitable giving. The Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado is here to help you plan your Will, including the opportunity for special gifts that you may not be able to create on your own. As Catholic faithful, we believe our earthly treasure is a gift from God, and we can give it a way to serve the greater good. Give alms. Provide money bags for yourselves that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven. LUKE 12:33–34 www.TheCatholicFoundation.com giving@thecatholicfoundation.com Jean Finegan | 303.867.0613 Deacon Steve Stemper | 303.468.9885 J esus wasn't worried about his polling results, Pope Francis said Jan. 31 — instead, he was concerned with each and every person, seeing everything about them, even those things which were seemingly small or inconsequential. "Statisticians might have been inclined to publish: 'Rabbi Jesus' pop- ularity is falling.' But he sought some- thing else: he sought people," the Pope said during Mass at Casa Santa Marta. "And the people sought him. The people had their gaze fi xed on him, and he had his fi xed on them." People might be tempted to say, yes, Jesus looks on the people, "on the mul- titude," Francis said, but no, he looks on each individual person. "This is the peculiarity of Jesus' gaze," he explained. "He does not standardize people; He looks at each person." In the book of Hebrews, it says to run the race of faith "with perseverance, keeping our eyes fi xed on Jesus," he said, adding that Jesus is always near us, "always in the crowd." "The gaze of Jesus falls on both the big and the small. That's how Jesus sees us all: He sees all things, but looks at each of us. He sees our big problems, our greatest joys, and also looks at the little things about us."
