Much of it ran wet-on-wet as well. The final image really had that vin- tage old-school retro look from the 60s and 70s that we were aiming to achieve. tri-blends can be heat sensitive, we used less heat and more time in the chamber, which helped keep scorching issues down. For water-based printing, we made sure our stencils were completely dry before full exposure. After developing, the stencils were hardened, post-exposed, then completely dried again. This would ensure stability of the stencil during the production run. Because we are in a low-humidity environment in Colorado, we added humidifiers and swamp coolers around the press to try and introduce some moisture into the air. After lock- ing all the screens in place with our registration system, we loaded up with test-print material, added the white ink in the base-plate screen, and printed all the platens. Next, we pushed the white ink to the back of the screen and completely cleaned out the image area to register the balance of the screens.
