46 • RV PRO • March 2017 rv-pro.com BILOXI, Miss. – During a product seminar on the opening day of Arrow Distributing's early January wholesale show, one dealer interrupted an early morning presentation on RV washing machines with a question: How long does it take to winterize? Given the 70-degree temperature outside the IP Casino & Resort and far- south location of the annual Exhibitors' Showcase, the presenter paused for a moment before confirming a 10-minute winterization cycle. The dealer, based in nor thern Michigan, was one of several hundred attending the two-day event. He illus- trated the wide swath of attendees at this year's showcase, which kicked off with a day of product seminars from a dozen vendors and concluded with a full day of exhibits, followed by a cocktail reception. Attendance and sales at the show were both up, according Arrow Vice President Andy Mullin. "Attendance saw a jump of over 15 percent, and show sales continue to increase over previous years," he said, giving partial credit to the venue. The show is Arrow's first at the IP Spa & Casino, but the distributor is no stranger to Biloxi. Arrow hosted its 2015 show at the nearby Beau Rivage Casino. "It fits well with our event and our customers thoroughly enjoy the venue," Mullin said. "There are a lot of opportunities for nearby dining and entertainment in addition to what the venue offers." In addition to the show's traditional amenities, such as VIP limo rides to and from the airport, Arrow made a number of changes aimed at simplifying business for its dealers, both at the show and the months leading up to the event. Specifically, vendor Sys2K integrated its DMS software with Arrow's inven- tory, allowing dealers to check product availability and order from the DMS software. The integration was first announced in September 2016. Now that it's implemented, Sys2K's Traeanne Reynolds said her company was at the show to inform dealers about the new capability and demonstrate the inte- grated functionality. As an increasing number of deal- erships make transitions to digital inventory back-end systems, online ordering and mobile device integra- tion, a growing number of distributors have begun to offer digital ordering to customers. Arrow is no exception.
