52 • RV PRO • March 2017 rv-pro.com While numerous factors also play a role in the uptick in dealer attendance, Perron says that he strives each year to host a show that provides a social oppor- tunity that is as good as its business environment. "We put together a good show, where it's a good atmosphere, so there's a lot of networking that can happen, and friendships get made between vendors and dealers and us," he says. In addition to its opening day vendor product and sales seminars, Northern hosts an annual Texas Hold 'em tourna- ment, which filled eight or nine tables. At the show, Northern Wholesale honored Lippert Components' Jack-It product with its Best New Product Award. The Jack-It is a double bike car- rier, which installs over the tongue jack on the trailer's A-frame. The BikeWing carrier holds two bikes by the wheels. The show's roughly 130 vendors nearly filled the Treasure Island Resort's 30,000-square-foot ballroom, but Perron says that, for now, there is no plan to seek out a new location. "So far, they (the hotel/casino) have expanded when we've needed them to," he says. "We're not quite maxing it out yet. Each year, we kind of take a look at things and see where we're at, and right now, we're planning on going back there (for 2018)." Land 'N' Sea Reels in Dealers From Florida in the Southeast, to Texas and Utah in the Southwest, dealers came to chilly Wisconsin Dells, Wis., for the Jan. 9-10 Land 'N' Sea/Bell Show. That geographic reach among dealers, along with the "significant" bump in sales by vendors over last year's annual show at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, made the show a major success, according to Land 'N' Sea's Schuessler. "Believe it or not, we had customers who came from as far away as Florida. Think of that: They came all the way from Florida to Wisconsin Dells in Jan- uary. We also had dealers who came from Texas and Utah," says Schuessler, adding there were "significantly more" dealers at this year's show." This was the second year the formerly separate Land 'N' Sea and Bell shows were combined under the Brunswick banner for the trade show. Last year's show served as the starting point for future national shows, and improve- ments to this year's event resulted in an uptick in sales and attendance, according to Schuessler. A big part of the success of this year's Land 'N' Sea/Bell show came from the increase in the number of vendors, according to Schuessler, noting that the number of vendors increased by about 45, to 113 total. 52 • RV PRO • March 2017 rv-pro.com Show Coverage The show floor fills with dealers as the 2017 Land 'N' Sea/Bell Show gets under way in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. Tom Schuessler, president of distribution for Brunswick Corp., said dealers attended the show from as far away as Florida, Texas and Utah.
