rv-pro.com March 2017 • RV PRO • 75 Klee explains that the warranty on most water heaters is based on how much anode material is in the tank. If the anode is changed out regularly, the tank should last almost indefinitely. However, that's not always an easy task. "One of the issues people have with tanked water heaters is they forget to change the anodes," Howlett says. "Get- ting at the plug to open the drain is also very difficult, and you always have to have the right ratchet, and then the water goes all over the place. We've found a solution where you can open the drain with a flick of your thumb and pull down and the anode cartridge comes out, and the water with it." And, even with systems that aren't quite that easy, the amount of water to be drained at the end of the season is measured in quarts or liters, rather than gallons. A standing-room only crowd of dealers attended an educational session at the NTP-STAG Expo show to learn about Suburban's various water heater products.
