any starting experience — he has eight career starts — and
he's also the only player among the eight on the roster be-
fore signing day to have at least 250 career offensive snaps.
So Brohm and Shephard attacked the position group hard
in December and January, ultimately signing five receivers
on Feb. 1, including Wright and Zico, both junior college
players. D'J Edwards and Tyler Hamilton enrolled in January
and will participate in spring ball. KeyRon Catlett, Zico and
Wright will arrive in the summer.
"While we like the returning guys on our squad, they ha-
ven't played as much, so you don't know quite extensively
as much about them, so you want to add to that position,"

The depth chart seemed too perfect.
When Terry Wright looked at the roster, one thing
stuck out: "Opportunity to just play."

JaMarcus Shephard sold it during the recruiting pro-
cess.
With starting receivers DeAngelo Yancey, Camer-
on Posey and Bilal Marshall gone, as well as Week 1
starter Domonique Young, whose season ended early
with an injury, the Boilermakers' receiving room was
