GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 27, ISSUE 4 8 Caleb Swanigan Boiler Index: Smoking The campaign for Caleb Swanigan as national player-of-the-year was gaining momentum in the middle of February, boosted by a specially designed Purdue website, Biggie4NPOY.com. But his own play — nine straight double-doubles as of Feb. 19 — is his biggest attention- getter. Jeff Brohm Boiler Index: Steaming New Purdue coach Jeff Brohm has endeared himself to Purdue fans early with his laid-back, casual approach. But challenges await, starting this spring. Devynne Charlton Boiler Index: Smoldering Devynne Charlton entered Big Ten Indoor Championships in late February as the top seed in the 60-meter dash and second in the 60 hurdles, the latter of which she holds the fifth-best time in the country this season. — Kyle Charters Boiler Index Gold and Black Illustrated A publication of Boilers, Inc. 2605 Yeager Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906 765-237-5002 or 1-800-876-GOPU (4678) Fax: 765-497-2110/Twitter.com/GoldandBlackcom President/Publisher Alan Karpick 765-237-5078 Editor Brian Neubert Publications Coordinator Kyle Charters Associate Editor/Football Stacy Clardie Photography/Cover Photo Tom Campbell Graphic Designer Gary A. The class was ranked last in the Big Ten but had a few players who played a big role in the Boilermakers' trip to the Rose Bowl four years later. One of those players was a skinny guy in the red jersey on the top left side of the cover. I think his name was something like Brees.
