52 SOD SPOTLIGHT the Valley High School team of Gilcrest. On his family's return to the Greeley area in 1999, his eldest son, Andy, couldn't find a wooden bat fall league in Greeley. "None of the local baseball fields would allow us to use their field, because they had them put away for the winter," Greg said. "So we just built a baseball field." The field opened in 2001 with dimensions of 330 feet down both foul lines and 390 feet to center field. "After a couple years, a lot of different teams were using our field," Greg said. "The coaches would comment that they sure wished that their field could look as nice as ours. We said, 'Well we can take care of this, and we can help with yours.' That's when we started the division to renovate baseball fields. We used a lot of specialty aggregate, like the warning track material, topdressing, sand, root zones, all that kind of stuff. We decided we could do it better than the people that we were buying it from. So we started a separate business called Golf and Sports Solutions." It provides the highest grade
