The larger community has also responded to Maysa's expansion with enthusiasm. More spectators show at games and more teams play at tournaments. Olson says everyone renting ice asks to book the new rink. Youth also have more opportunities to watch older players from Minot High School, the Minotauros and the Minot State University Beavers practice. They have ample space. The arena now sits more than 2,100 people, including horseshoe- shaped seating around the Pepsi Rink. The rink also boasts features including LED lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system and a sports-medicine training room. Locker rooms include an office area for coaches, restrooms with showers and generous storage space. The new rink also continues the arena's original goal to be environmentally friendly. Heat recovery systems warm rooms for meetings, lockers, concessions and officials, as well as the heating system under the ice, snow dump pit and domestic hot water system. Now that the Pepsi Rink is complete, tenants look forward to hosting larger tournaments at all levels. Minot State
