Parra For Cuva is back with a new stunning EP since his wildly successful cover of Chris Isaak's Wicked Games. In 2014 he released his debut album Majouré, featuring guest artists; Nieve, Casey K and Moonsiren. He also collaborated with long- time musical companion Senoy to release his highly acclaimed second album, Darwîs, in 2016 via Project Mooncircle. Following Darwīš, this current release is a collection of songs that have been created in and around last year. The title song 'Mood in C' was composed after the Ethiopian pentatonic scale, that is deeply intertwined with both the spirituality of the people. But also the war-torn and deeply trenched history of the country. Furthermore the EP combines guitar effects with synths, and all sounds were recorded analog with the help of effects units. All percussion was either recorded on journeys, travels or at home with everyday objects to give the EP a unique sound. Drawing influences from organic electronic outfits such as Bonobo, Tycho and Four Tet, Parra For Cuva's approach towards composition draws heavily on the use of live (often exotic) instrumentation, thick layering of effects and the use of often quirky motifs. NEW RELEASES The band will play at their own one-day festival aptly named Demon Dayz. This tune is going to rock the summer away! The one-day long festival will take place on the 10th of June at the dreamland amusement park. Everyone attending will have access to free rides and the Festival will be broadcast live through Red- Bull TV. More information has yet to be announced, however I'm hoping that it'll be a celebration of the Gorillaz album of the same name, but it's seems extremely unlikely given the disappointing lead single of their new album. Hallelujah Money was a far-cry from the great singles released from Demon Dayz. So let's hope that the new record will be as great as we're all hoping, however I am still feeling personally disappointed with Plastic Beach, so I have my doubts. One thing London has to be proud of is up and coming garage house artists (thank you, Craig David). If you're in need of some bouncy garage house then look no further than London-born Ossie. Soft female vocals on some nostalgic rhythms while remaining fresh. 'Wires' is a track off Ossie's latest EP Space Odyssey. So expect a bouncing, dance classic that's no doubt going to be heard a lot this summer!
