The Queen is back! With a new track titled 'I'm Better'. The graphics for the video are edgy and colourful. The clip has a very Missy Elliot style to it, with its sci-fi elements played over a futuristic beat: swimming pools, exercise balls, and choreographed danc- ers in white bodysuits. This typical artsy and weird vibe is what we love from her so much. The video already has over 15 million views, which just shows how much ev- eryone has missed her music and style. In the late 90's and early 2000's Missy released many classic hits such as Get Ur Freak On and Work It, songs that everyone knows and loves. She was and is a revolutionary artist but with her last proper studio album The Cookbook, released in 2005, we can only hope she will release an album soon. 'I'm Better' is her first new solo material since last year's 'Pep Rally', and it is her first official video since WTF with Phar- rell Williams which was released in 2015. She has been out of the game for a long time, and we didn't know why until very recently. In her latest Billboard cover story, she reveals how she was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2008. The condition caused her to have extreme headaches, extreme weight loss, high blood pres- sure and many other health problems. But the Hip-Hop queen has now got her condition under control, thankfully, and she has returned to the spotlight. Which is good news for everyone! PLAYLIST Heavn Jamila Woods Endless Frank Ocean A good night in the ghetto Kamaiyah Hallucinogen Kelela Here's the hip hop & rnb on our playlist this month London boy, Bakar is about to change things with his new single 'Big Dreams'. R&B/ Neo soul group, The internet will be in town next month playing three dates at Scala on the 9th, 10th and 11th of April. GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: BAKAR Although they haven't released a project as a group since the Grammy nominated Ego Death (2015), all the members are working on solo projects, and three have already released solo albums in the past few months. Syd with All About Me, Matt Martians with Drum Chord Theory and Steve Lacy with Steve Lacy's Demo. The band will perform some of their hits as The Internet,' but they will also take to the stage performing tracks from their solo projects. This will be The Internet in a way we have never seen before. 'Big Dreams' feels reminiscent of 2008 indie, Bloc Party and Jamie T's, XFM in its glory days. The song's got a vibe that's been missing from the scene for a while and has a super nostalgic feel to it. A member of the 616 collective, a singer, and model in his spare time, Bakar is not one to be slept on. Although 'Big Dreams' is his only official single to date, he's also got a few songs on his SoundCloud, which have completely different feels to them, and this is part of why we're fucking with him! With only a few songs he's already shown so much diversity and, a potential to put on sick live shows.
