NEWS: DRUM & BASS
AWARDS 2017
Portuguese duo, Broken Sight
go in hard with their latest amen
clasher, 'Witchcraft'.
The winners were announced for
the annual awards show.
This month the annual Drum & Bass Awards took
place with a huge ceremony followed by a massive
party with the biggest and best on hand.
Taking place in Donington, Derby the hanger played
host to two big sound systems with true drum & bass
royalty taking to the decks. 1000's of ravers got 360
degrees of the genre with Camo & Krooked, Chase &
Status, High Contrast, Sigma, Roni Size, Hazard and
loads more tearing it up between the two stages.
Before all that, winners were announced that
included Noisia for Best Album & Friction for Best
Radio Show. The shock win though was the award
for Best DJ moving to DJ Hazard in a first.... ever?
Getting serious for Skalator's seventh release,
with an atmospheric, eerie jungle beat that's built
directly for the floor. It's one of the first releases from
the new duo who came through at the back end of
last year.
Made up of Terrortek and Zero, this new duo have
been flexing in the dark edges of the d&b scene.
The pair decided to get together last year and plan
to extend their sound out further from their current
niche.
Their latest tune 'Witchcraft' is a prime extension of
their sound, diving into the old skool jungle vibes.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH: BLACK SUN
EMPIRE
Incoming album from Black Sun Empire!
They don't come much bigger than
Black Sun Empire, so you can imagine
the news of a new album to be HUGE.
This news though was exactly what the
Dutch d&b heads shared when they
took to Facebook recently, revealing
that work on their first album in five
years has finally finished. The trio also
shared a few details including collabs
with Noisia and Virus Syndicate, the
release date and the title - The Wrong
Room.
Coming in late March, the groups long
awaited album follows from their latest
single The Veil / Catalyst.
