In a new age of technology,
matters of privacy and security
are in constant controversy –
with masses arguing that the
increasing level of technological
surveillance infringes upon their
human right to a private life.
The new WikiLeak project has
been dubbed 'Vault 7' in its
attempts to expose the US's
Center of Central Intelligence's
methods in extracting
information from individuals.
WikiLeaks has most notably
exposed the CIA's attempts in
trying to "weaponize" iPhone
and Samsung products, of which
most of the US population is an
owner of, by turning them into
"covert microphones."
This means that the US can
use this surveillance to obtain
private information on all and
any of its citizens.
The Julian Assange- created organisation committed to enforcing political
transparency has released thosands of controversial leaks believed to be from
the CIA's Center for Cyber Intelligence.
CIA BECOMES LATEST TARGET
OF WIKILEAKS
But what about if you come from a country
where many women don't have a voice? A
country like Canada!
Wait, Canada? Okay, so of course many
Canadians gathered to make a stand for women
on March the 8th. But why is it in a place that
has the lyrics 'home and native land' in their
national anthem, people don't really care about
the actual native people that live there? Between
1980 and 2012 over 1,200 indigenous women
have been murdered or disappeared, but the
police and government are doing nothing about
this!
So let's keep fighting for equality and rights but
also, lets speak up for the women who don't
have a voice, to end discrimination towards all
women, no matter who we are or where we are
from. We are all in this together!

GIRL POWER
GOES GLOBAL
In the UK, rights for women
are far from perfect but at
least when bad things happen,
people normally listen. And
rightly so!
