FOCUS PSB V-twin 22 • April 3, 2017 • Powersports Business www.PowersportsBusiness.com BY LISA PELISSIER CONTRIBUTING WRITER Interest in Victory motorcycles, which is always strong on Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com, has soared since Polaris' January 2017 announce- ment to discontinue the brand. Street bikes in general, not exclusive to V-twin, saw an overall seasonal uptick of 38 percent dur- ing the 28 days following the announcement versus the 28 days prior. Since the announce- ment of its demise, Victory saw an overall increase in KBB.com web hits of 116 percent. Both Kelley Blue Book Trade-in Value and Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value saw substantial increases in KBB.com hits. But the largest increase in KBB.com hits, at 130 percent, was for the Kelley Blue Book Trade-in Value. Indian, another make under Polaris, saw an increase of 51 percent in KBB.com hits. Harley-Davidson, not directly affected by Polaris' announcement, saw a 35 percent over- all increase in KBB.com hits, with similar per- centages for both Kelley Blue Book Trade-in Value and Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value hits. TOP 10 HARLEY-DAVIDSON VIEWS Harley-Davidson touring bikes swept the Harley V-twin list, with the Street Glide family taking eight of the top 10 spots. Last year at this time, the top 10 Harley- Davidson V-twin motorcycles were more evenly split between the Street Glide and Electra Glide families. For January 2017, two Electra Glides ceded to two additional Street Glide models. TOP 10 JAPANESE V-TWIN BIKES OVER 1000CC All of the top 10 Japanese V-twin motorcycles over 1000cc appeared on this list during the same time last year. The Honda VTX family dominated this list, with the VTX1300 series taking six spots, and the VTX1800 taking two spots. The only non-VTX models in the top 10 were the 2010 Honda Fury and the 2006 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic. TOP 10 JAPANESE V-TWIN BIKES UNDER 1000CC Although Honda dominated the top 10 Japa- nese V-twin motorcycles under 1000cc list, Yamaha took the No. 1 spot with the 2007 V Star 650 Classic. The Honda Shadow family took eight of the 10 spots on this list. Nine of the top 10 models appeared on this list a year ago, with the 2004 Honda Shadow 750 Aero replacing the 2007 Honda Shadow 750 Spirit.
