Launches New Product A new patent-pending product has been released by the Burley family company of Everything Ice, Inc. from Johnstown, PA, entitled Low-E-Ice. The product is designed to lower operat- ing expenses for both indoor and out- door ice rink applications. In outdoor applications where heat loads are exces- sive from direct sunlight, operators could realize savings of 50% or more with Low-E-Ice. Indoor complexes could save from 10% to 30% with reduction in refrigeration and dehumidification loads. Current technology involves using a bright white pigment to reflect sunlight and enhance the appearance of the ice surface. Low-E Ice is a process of using a special metalized Low-E-Flake as an ice paint to be sandwiched in the ice layer. The Low-E-Ice material will reduce radi- ant heat load absorption into an ice rink floor, thereby saving substantial energy for the complex. It will also permit rinks to operate in much higher temperatures without the need of large refrigeration units and the electric bills associated with the larger units. The Low-E-Ice product line also provides a very similar appearance which is virtually undistin- guishable from conventional white ice paint after it is applied and used. More information about Low-E-Ice or any of the other Everything Ice products can be obtained from info@everything-ice.com or by calling toll free at 888-543-0921.
