Poblano chiles used to makeit were harvested earlier in the maturation process while still green, then fi re roasted. Grass Monkey is a hoppy pale wheat with lem- ongrass; a big stash of Le- mondrop hops were added to the kettle and dry hop. The spring "Dank Tank" release, Old Man Johnson's Farm is an imperial stout with rasp- berries. Single Hop Mosaic IPA features Mosiac hops and is the fi rst release from Sweetwater's pilot 5-barrel brewhouse. The 20th Anniversary Ale is a hop-forward Brettanomyces. URL: www.sweetwaterbrew.com SPYTAIL BLACK GINGER RUM Imported from France by Biggar & Leith, Spytail is based on a 19th-century recipe of ageing Caribbean Rum with fresh ginger and spices in the barrel. The rum is distilled in the Caribbean and then aged, spiced and blended at a distillery in the Cognac region of France. The Spytail brand "celebrates the French deep-sea pioneers and the subma- rines within which they plunged to terrifying new depths," the company says. Bottled at 40%-42% ABV. A new look for the brand includes a new corked bottle with a matte-fi nish closure capsule, plus a higher-end label for a "craftier feel," the company says. Combines sherry wines and botanicals. The base wine is a blend of a sweet Pedros Ximenez and a dry nutty Amontillado, both aged separately for 10 years in their own soleras at the House of Lustau cellars in Jerez. The botanicals are macerated separately for aroma extraction. Wormwood, gentian, coriander and orange peel notes stand out. The limited-edition Ole Smoky Outsiders Farrell Shine is inspired by the fi ction- al "Farrell Wine" featured in the show and contains similar ingredients, the company says. Ole Smoky Outsiders Farrell Shine is a 70-proof ginger and ginseng-fl avored moonshine, housed in a commemorative mason jar. SRP: $24.95 per 750-ml. jar URL: www.olesmoky.com CASTELLO DI GABBIANO DARK KNIGHT 2015 Italy's Castello di Gabbiano winery estate, located in Tus- cany's Chianti Classico region, has launched its fi rst vintage of Dark Knight, an IGT red blend. Crafted by Tuscan-born winemaker Federico Cerelli, it's a blend of Cabernet Sauvi- gnon, Merlot and Sangiovese. It's imported into the U.S. by Treasury Wine Estates. SRP: $17 per 750-ml. bottle URL: www.gabbiano.it TOM GORE VINEYARDS 2014 RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON A full-bodied, supple-tan- nin wine with aromas of dark fruit, caramel and tobacco. In the mouth are concentrated blackberry and plum fl avors with a sweet fruit entry and full body. Grapes were sourced from Alexander Valley vineyards, including Hoffman Ranch in Geyserville. The 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is 14.71% ABV and aged 18 months in oak barrels.
