www.PowersportsBusiness.com KBB.com data shows most researched ATV trends BY LISA PELISSIER CONTRIBUTING WRITER This month we're look- ing at the top 10 most searched model year 2016 ATVs on Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com. The 2016 Polaris Sports- man 450 HO took the No. 1 spot on the most- researched, newly intro- duced ATV list. The 2016 Yamaha Kodiak 700 came in just behind it at No. 2. Both ATVs received more than twice as many KBB.com hits than the No. 3 ATV on the list. Most of the ATVs on this list are rein- ventions of previously existing ATVs. They have been given new engines, new platforms or new trims. Nine utility ATVs are on this list. Only one ATV, the Can-Am Renegade X mr 1000R, is from the sport segment. MOST-RESEARCHED ATV MANUFACTURERS Honda retained the No. 1 position on the list of most-researched ATV manufacturers (all model years) for another year. For 2017 year-to-date, the manufacturer has gained 0.5 percent in share of interest, bringing it back up to its 2015 share of 26 percent. Suzuki's, Can-Am's and Kawasaki's positions on this list were almost too close to call, with only 0.044 percent separating the three. Can-Am has seen the largest gains in inter- est on KBB.com, going from a 5.3 percent share of interest in ATVs in 2013 to a 7.1 percent share for 2017 year-to-date. Polaris showed a steady increase in inter- est, while Arctic Cat and Kawasaki witnessed steady drops. MOST-RESEARCHED ATV OEMS (MODEL YEAR 2016) While Honda was the most-viewed manufac- turer over all model years on KBB.com, for model year 2016 ATVs alone, Polaris was the clear leader. Polaris bested Honda by more than 9 percentage points.
