ISSUE 98 / 2017 TECHNOLOGY Wright Electric is developing new technology that could have electric planes up and running in the next ten years! The social network has assembled 60 people to work on technology that will allow you to 'think' commands at your electronic devices. 16 IS IT A BIRD? IS IT A PLANE? NO! IT'S A SUPER ELECTRIC PLANE THAT SAVES THE PLANET! FACEBOOK WORKS ON MINDREADING TECHNOLOGY Wright Electric is developing new technology that could have electric planes up and running in the next ten years! This not only means a better environmental impact along with quieter engines, but the price of flights will drop as fuel for jets will be in less demand. Yet, this does come with one major negative downfall, some people are saying that this dream may never actually become a reality, because there's simply isn't technology advanced enough to make it happen anytime soon. That said, there was once a time when people said that the Wright brothers would never make a plane fly, so who knows what the future holds? I for one really hope this is technology that we will start to see in the foreseeable future, even if it is just for the comedy value of seeing staff staggering around the airport with giant plugs, and giant double AA batteries to pop into the planes when needed. The secretive division is based at Facebook's California headquarters, where the team has been "experimenting with mindreading tech for months now." The technology is meant to read your brain waves so that you don't even have to look down at your phone to type a text, you can just think it! However, if you thought that this sounds impossible, Regina Dugan head of the company's experimental division said that Facebook is already "closer than you think." Mark Zuckerberg hopes to take the project further by having technology so advanced, people can share their thoughts directly without the barrier of language.
