GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 27, ISSUE 5 69 PURDUE 2018 TARGETS Some of the Purdue's highest-priority recruits for 2018 this spring, heading into the summer: Player Position Rivals.com Ranking Eric Hunter Guard 78 The combo guard and state champion from Indianapolis Tindley is probably the closest thing to E'Twaun Moore Purdue's recruited since E'Twaun Moore. He's 6-foot-3, an excellent three-point shoot- er and slasher who makes pull-ups and can even post up. He's a very complete offensive player and being recruited accordingly. Offers: Purdue, Butler, Xavier, others. Trevion Williams Post 96 The wide-bodied, space-eating 6-8 power forward from Detroit has changed his body over the years to become a more formidable front-line player, the sort of physical presence Purdue might be particularly drawn to. Offers: Michigan State, Xavier, Illinois Robby Carmody Wing 99 All grit and effort, the 6-4 Pittsburgh area wing is the consummate attitude-type recruit. He'll be a tone-setter for effort and toughness wherever he goes and could be a defensive game-changer. Beyond that, he's a big guard who's an excellent athlete and slasher and can shoot well enough from long range. Offers: Purdue, Michigan, Notre Dame, Butler, Ohio State, Northwestern, Syracuse, Pitt, Louis- ville, others. Damezi Anderson Forward/Wing 103 The high-scoring 6-7 swingman from South Bend Riley averaged 24 points per game as a junior. Like Hunter, he can score from every level, with height and length and a pull-up game that make him a particularly tough guard. Offers: Purdue, Connecticut, DePaul, others, with interest from Michigan State and Xavier, among others. Robert Phinisee Guard 122 The steady and poised point guard from McCutcheon in Lafayette may not do any one thing ex- traordinarily well to the point where it jumps off the page, but his demeanor is ideal for the position, he has size and he's quick enough. His shooting has taken a step, too. Offers: Purdue, Indiana, Butler, Virginia Aaron Henry Forward — The Indy Ben Davis forward is only about 6-5, but does a little bit of everything and will have high-major offers to show for it before long. He jibes with the skill level Purdue's always coveted at the 4 position and his energy would be a draw, too. Emmanuel Dowuona Center — A big, 6-foot-11 center from Ghana who's played just two years of basketball and exhibits signifi- cant potential for development. — Brian Neubert
