and then get a chance to get them back," Versyp said.
The 61st-best player in the country in 2017, per ESPN,
McLaughlin took a visit to Purdue the last weekend of
March, which sealed her feelings about the program.
"I feel like it'd be really awesome to play in your home
state," she said. "I think that's it's something special,
definitely.
"... To be able to say 'Boiler Up,' that's exciting in it-
self."
McLaughlin was an outstanding shooter for Home-
stead, scoring nearly 2,600 points in her career, with
a 46-percent mark from three-point range as a senior.
ESPN ranks her as the No. 10 point guard in the coun-
try, and she feels better about the position after playing
there as a senior.
"I think that was really beneficial," she said. "I'm
comfortable in both positions, so wherever Coach Ver-
syp needs me at the time, I'll be willing to go in and do
that for her."
McLaughlin is the fifth member of the '17 class, join-
ing Léony Boudreau, Fatou Diagne, Tamara Farquhar
and Dani Lawson.
