Further, these ac- tions are projected to have a modestly posi- tive impact on earnings and a minimal impact on free cash flow, with the majority of the earnings benefit occurring in 2018. The company further stated that this de- cision has no impact on its strategy or plans for Brunswick's Mercury Marine engine busi- ness or its Life Fitness business in the region. Brunswick opened the plant in 2012, cit- ing the solid growth of the market. OneWater acquires Grande Yachts Atlanta-based OneWater Marine Holdings, LLC, has acquired Grande Yachts Interna- tional with 11 coastal locations in New York, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Car- olina and Florida. Terms were not disclosed. "Looking to expand our geographic foot- print into the Northeast, as well as to build upon our growing success in selling larger vessels, adding Grande Yachts International to our dealer portfolio made perfect sense." said Austin Singleton, CEO of OneWater Marine Holdings. "As we continue in aggres- sive acquisition mode, we're excited to have added a proven dealer that sells premium brands in growing coastal markets." "Joining OneWater provides me the added resources and structure to continue to grow our business while allowing me to focus more of my energy and attention supporting our in- credible employees and amazing customers." Grande Yachts offers Tiara, Riviera, Absolute, Prestige and Jeanneau, as well as EdgeWater, Pursuit, SeaFox and Chris-Craft luxury sport boats. Grande Yachts is also one of the largest yacht brokerage houses with 11 sales locations on the East Coast. The com- pany will continue to operate its current loca- tions under the Grande Yachts International name. All existing personnel will remain with the company. Brunswick Innovation Laboratory opens at University of Illinois Brunswick Corporation is opening the Brunswick Innovation Laboratory in the Research Park at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Innovation Lab will augment the research and development activity the com- pany currently conducts across all of its primary lines of business, including marine engine, pleasure boats and fitness equipment. "Brunswick spends hundreds of millions of dollars each year on research and devel- opment in a continuous effort to drive in- novation into its new products, to enhance existing products and to improve its manu- facturing processes. These efforts have been solidly productive as the company continues to outpace its competition in the introduction of new products to market as well as securing patents on its technologies and features," the company said in a statement. This newly established research arm for Brunswick will be under the direction of Troy Kollmann, who was formerly manager, inno- vation processes and emerging technologies, at Brunswick's Mercury Marine division. "The Research Park's intimate connec- tion with the University of Illinois, with its resources and talented students and fac- ulty, is particularly enticing for Brunswick as well as other firms seeking to expand their understanding and deployment of technologies to advance their products and open new avenues to grow their busi- nesses," said David Foulkes, Brunswick's vice president and chief technology officer. "The technical resources at the University of Illinois are among the most highly re- garded in the nation, as are its engineer- ing programs. These strengths, along with other companies within the park, offer an atmosphere conducive to collaboration and learning."
