In 2016, Dubai attracted 14.9 million visitors, consolidating its position as the fourth most visited city in the world, according to the 2016 Mastercard Global Destinations Cities Index. With a target of 20 million annual visitors by 2020, efforts continue to further develop the tourism eco system and to create tourism appeal for business and leisure visitors. AIM HIGH IN DUBAI The city makes big plans to build upon visitor experiences S P E C I A L F E A T U R E Museum of the Future With the motto "See the future, create the future", the Museum of the Future will stand in front of Emirates Towers on Sheikh Zayed Road and be the city's home of new technology, featuring a large complex of labs and studios designed especially for the world's leading scientists and researchers. Dubai Frame Dubai Frame is a giant window frame- shaped building, positioned to allow stunning views of Old Dubai from one side and the new Dubai skyline from the other. At 150 metres high and 93 metres wide and clad in gold, the remarkable structure will feature a clear glass elevated walkway along the top, from which visitors will experience a stunning city view. Bluewaters Island Bluewaters is a man-made mixed use island located off the coast of Jumeirah Beach Residence. Ain Dubai — at 210 metres in height the world's largest observation wheel — will be the centrepiece of this development. The island will also feature retail, residential, hospitality and entertainment zones and will be connected to the mainland with a direct roadway from the Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as a mono rail system. Dubai Safari Park Nearing completion and located near the Ras Al Khor National Wildlife Sanctuary, Dubai Safari Park will be home to 10,000 animals, with 350 species of animals, some rare and endangered. Covering over 119 hectares, the park will be split into a safari village, an Arabian village, an Asian village and an African village. There will also be a butterfly park, a botanical garden and educational and veterinary facilities, The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour Adding to the city's spectacular skyline, and set to become its tallest structure, The Tower will anchor the 6 square kilometre Dubai Creek Harbour mega-development, located just 10 minutes from the Dubai International Airport. It will feature dynamic illumination and movement lighting, which will make it a stunning visual landmark. Meydan One Mall Meydan One Mall will cover more than 30,000 sqm of indoor and outdoor multipurpose space, with 529 retail shops including two major department stores and an 11,200 sqm hypermarket. It will feature a unique retractable roof, to offer an alfresco shopping and dining atmosphere.
