JUNE/JULY 2017 THE WOLVERINE 61   FOOTBALL RECRUITING Sandidge, who is ranked as the nation's No. 3 defensive tackle, can play both offense and defense and is one of Michigan's top big-man targets. Michael Thompson, 6-4, 273, Saint Louis (Parkway North) Thompson, the land's No. 5 defensive tackle, is another St. Louis product getting attention from the Wolverine staff. Tommy Togiai, 6-3, 293, Pocatello, Idaho (Highland) Michigan rarely recruits in Idaho, but has done a good job with Togiai and sits in his top group. Linebacker Kolin Demens, 6-2, 200, Beverly Hills, Mich. (Country Day) As the younger brother of former Wolverine Kenny Demens and the No. 8 player in the state, Kolin could end up in the class if U-M pushes for him. Dallas Gant, 6-3, 208, Toledo, Ohio (St. John's) Gant, the No. 19 outside linebacker in the nation, is one of Michigan's top targets, and he's definitely interested in the Maize and Blue. Teradja Mitchell, 6-3, 232, Virginia Beach, Va. (Bishop Sullivan) Mitchell doesn't appear to be into U-M as much as he once was, but he's still a target. Chris Oats, 6-4, 205, Cincinnati Winton Woods Michigan was one of the first offers for Oats, but he's a quite kid and is tough to figure out. Otis Reese, 6-2, 195, Leesburg, Ga. (Lee County) Reese, the nation's No. 13 outside linebacker, was the first Georgian to commit to Michigan in the class. Shayne Simon, 6-2, 195, Jersey City, N.J. (St. Peter's Prep) The No. 9 outside linebacker in the country and a perfect candidate for the Viper position, Simon is high on Michigan and visited Ann Arbor in April. Cornerback Sammy Faustin, 6-2, 170, Naples, Fla. (Naples) Faustin had great comments about Michigan after a spring visit, but might not be heavily pursued moving forward. Stanley Garner, 6-3, 180, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Dillard) Garner also doesn't seem to be a top target, but is intrigued by what Michigan is all about. Gemon Green, 6-2, 173, DeSoto, Texas (DeSoto) At 6-2, Green is the exact type of athlete U-M cornerbacks coach Mike Zordich likes. D'Shawn Jamison, 5-10, 174, Houston (Lamar) The No. 22 cornerback in the land, Jamison sees himself being used like Jabrill Peppers — a lofty goal, but the four-star has a lot of natural ability. Myles Sims, 6-3, 173, Atlanta (Westlake) Sims, the No. 8 cornerback in the class, is extremely long and fits per- fectly into Michigan's secondary. Isaac Taylor-Stuart, 6-2, 177, San Diego (St. Augustine) Taylor-Stuart, a borderline five-star and the nation's No. 4 cornerback, might be the only immediate take left on Michigan's cornerback board. Safety Aashari Crosswell, 6-1, 185, Long Beach, Calif. (Poly) Crosswell, the No. 7 safety nationally, is very interested in Michigan and continues to hear from the coaches. Trey Dean, 6-2, 180, Hampton, Ga. (Dutchtown) Another big-time prospect from Georgia, Dean is coveted by teams in the South. B.J. Foster, 6-2, 180, Angleton, Texas (Angleton) Foster, the No. 2-rated safety in the class, is another Texas product that Michigan would love to steal away. Joseph Foucha, 5-11, 190, New Orleans (McDonogh 35) Foucha is high on Michigan, but might not leave the state of Louisiana. German Green, 6-2, 180, DeSoto, Texas (DeSoto) Like his twin brother, German is long and athletic, but is coming off of an ACL tear. Josh Jobe, 6-0, 176, Miami (Columbus) — Miami commit Apparently done with the recruiting process, Jobe is still a top target of the Michigan staff. Isheem Young, 5-10, 180, Philadelphia (Imhotep Charter School) Young, the country's No. 12 safety, included Michigan in his top group in mid-April. Athlete Brian Asamoah, 6-1, 205, Columbus, Ohio (St. Francis DeSales) Asamoah doesn't hold an Ohio State offer and could easily end up in Ann Arbor. Michael Barrett, 6-0, 200, Valdosta, Ga. (Lowndes) Barrett would be an interesting backfield compliment of already com- mitted Christian Turner. Houston Griffith, 6-0, 185, Bradenton, Fla. (IMG Academy) Another Chicago native down at IMG and Rivals No. 2 athlete nationally, Griffith speaks highly of Michigan but likely has a few programs ahead of the Wolverines. Tre'Shaun Harrison, 6-1, 185, Seattle (Garfield) It'll be tough to pluck Harrison away from Washington, but the electric weapon and skilled defender is worth the effort. Talanoa Hufanga, 6-1, 194, Corvallis, Ore. (Crescent Valley) Everyone assumes Hufanga, the No. 8 athlete in the land, will follow his brother's footsteps to Oregon State, but he's maintained a high level of interest in U-M. Kearis Jackson, 6-0, 191, Fort Valley, Ga. (Peach County) An electric playmaker and crafty defender, Jackson continues to receiver Michigan attention. Kyler McMichael, 6-1, 185, Duluth, Ga. (Greater Atlanta Christian) McMichael excels most at running back and isn't much different from commit Christian Turner in the backfield, but he can do a lot on the football field. L'Christian Smith, 6-5, 215, Huber Heights, Ohio (Wayne) At 6-5, Smith is a nightmare matchup at wide receiver, and the nation's top-rated athlete was blown away by Michigan during a late-April visit.
