SITE lines | Issue 2 May 18, 2017 2 obvious – incentive quality events that give us networking opportunities and experiences to remembe r. On behalf of the board of directors, I'd like to thank all of our committee members for the work that you have done and are doing for our events this year! You will hear a lot from the board this year about getting involved and joining a committee. We c an appreciate that sometimes it seems almost impossible to add another commitment to our busy lives, however there are many ways to be involved without over - extending yourself. Committee work can be a simple as owning a piece of the puzzle without assuming responsibility for the entire program or volunteering to help on - site during an event. No matter the size of your contribution, it will always have a positive impact. We welcome you to join a committee call as a starting point and go from there, your inpu t and assistance is always appreciated. Consider our theme for the year of Ascend. Achieve. Excel. Encourage yourself to ascend to a new level on a committee to achieve your own personal growth and help excel our events to great heights. SITE Canada con tinues to grow its presence in the industry by supporting Meetings Mean Business Canada (MMBC). The coalition is rapidly expanding this year under the guidance of Grant Snider and its board of directors, and it has become a very important voice for the mee ting and incentive industry in Canada. The economic impact of meetings and incentives is significant in Canada and government support is integral to our continued success. MMBC is the champion for us all and we are proud to be a supporter. Our very first C hapter meeting in Vancouver is coming up on Wednesday, May 23rd and the speaker line up is outstanding. Wednesday, July 19th is the date of our Celebrate SITE Canada event to recognize the 30th anniversary of the founding of this incredible chapter. We al so have our annual golf tournament on August 21st that is always a great day. Sponsorship is sold out, and golfer registration is now open. Our September Chapter meeting will offer a new format and experience than we've done before, details will be avail able shortly. Education Day on November 1st is shaping up to provide impactful topics that are relevant and timely for our industry today. We look forward to welcoming you at all of these events! In closing, our Chapter is successful because of the commit ment of our members and we want to hear from you. In the coming weeks you will be invited to participate in a survey to provide your feedback on the direction of our Chapter. Your input is very important to us, so please take a moment to share your though ts when it comes out. Thank you!
