Notice an Italian theme? It has evolved in the naming of brands at TMC and it seems to be working. People hear an Italian-sounding brand and associate it with TMC, according to Jon Krider, vice president of product and marketing at TMC. For 2018 and beyond, TMC has repositioned Tus- cany from the middle of the market to a higher price point, around $399,000. Tus- cany was redesigned from the ground up, including a new basement layout, new one- piece front and rear caps, a roof-mounted Girard awning, an Aqua-Hot 400D hydronic furnace and water heating system, a 200-watt solar charging system, a Winegard ConnecT 4G/WiFi antenna (that increases the range of existing WiFi hotspots and provides a cellular 4G data signal), a fully integrated Firefly multiplex wiring control system, Blue Tooth tablet control throughout the coach, new Sony electronics and JBL sound bars with Blue Tooth, USB charging stations in bedroom nightstands, a drop- down overhead bunk in the cockpit and a residential-tiled shower with glass door and teak seat in the bathroom. Tuscany also is the first diesel with a push-button start. Meanwhile, TMC's positioning the entry-level Palazzo to retail for less than $200,000 is working out well, as the brand is TMC's top-selling diesel and stood at No. 5 in Stat Survey data at year-end 2016. "In the entry level price segment, Palazzo is the best retailing diesel Class A motorhome on the market," Krider touts. The price point allows consumers to experience diesel power at the same price point as for some gas Class A's, Krider notes. Because of its affordable price, the Palazzo doesn't have to be an RVer's "final purchase," he adds. New for 2018 is the 36.3 floorplan, featuring residential kitchen appliances, an electric fireplace and a king-size bed with the exclusive Tilt-A-View inclining bed mechanism. The Tuscany is Thor Motor Coach's flagship model. For the 2018 model year, TMC has repositioned the Tuscany from the middle of the market to a higher price point of nearly $400,000 and redesigned it to add features and benefits.
