rv-pro.com June 2017 • RV PRO • 49 In years past, I've had good products and bad products, but I stayed an RVer because I love the lifestyle. Older generations such as myself tolerated the issues, but younger generations don't. They will get in and get out quickly. They won't tolerate substandard quality or not getting their products serviced. We need to do a better job bringing in young people and getting them to stay. RV PRO: What do you believe have been the industry's biggest improvements? Zagami: The products we have available at every segment of the industry are the best that have ever been produced. We are able to offer everything from a $6,000 pop-up to a near mil- lion-dollar diesel pusher, or $2.5 million if you want to include bus conversions. Advanced technology designed into today's RVs is exactly what the next generation of buyers is looking for. They want connec- tivity – almost above any other options we can provide them. They want to be mobile, live mobile, work mobile and they want quality products that provide them a new level of convenience, excitement and enjoyment on the road. RV PRO: How do you feel about the industry's prospects moving forward? Zagami: I feel if we do things right, we will be an industry easily sustained by steady growth for the next 10 to 15 years. It is fantastic that we sold over 430,000 RVs in 2016 and that we could easily sell over 450,000 units this year – but they have to be built well, serviced well, supported well and they all have to be happy campers. We have over 325 million people in this great country of ours. I think we should be able to sell 1 million units a year if we pay attention to detail, improve the quality of our products, build an infrastructure to support everyone at the local dealership and over the road, and make sure all of these people make memories for a lifetime and share their experiences with all the non-RVers we still have not reached yet. RVing today is the last vestige of what the American lifestyle was 50 years ago. The campground is everything we used to know about quality of life and the quality of family. You meet your neighbors in the campground, learn their names; the children run around and you feel they are safe; the kids disconnect from their devices and play outdoors. It is a great experience and that can sustain the lifestyle and sustain the manufacturer. TRUSTING IS HARD. KNOWING WHO TO TRUST EVEN HARDER. TRUST DEXTER.
