The company decided to help the hospital in some way so last summer, it decided to tie one of its sales promotions to rais- ing money for the hospital. Last summer, the company offered 5 percent off their standoff kits and pledged to donate 10 percent of those sales to the hospital—in effect, giving its customers a chance to help as well. Gyford contacted Shriner's and was told by the hospital's Development Department that there was need for a new gurney and mattress, so the company decided this would be their dona- tion. After the amount for the gurney was donated, and the gur- ney was procured by the hospital, Gyford employees were invited to the hospital to see their donation in action. Gyford employees were given a personal tour of the hospital by Melissa Wood, Joe Ramos and Anna Nicholson of the Development Department. Gyford employees spoke with the hospital staff that uses the new gurney and hear what a difference the new piece of equipment was making. Gyford says it's looking forward to finding more ways to work with the hospital again in the future. Gyford Standoff Systems recently donated a gurney to Shriners Hospital in Sacramento, California, and representatives from the company were invited to the hospital for a tour.
