S I G N & D I G I T A L G R A P H I C S • June 2017 • 17 Mimaki Partners with Coldenhove Papier Suwanee, Georgia-based technology and digital printing equip- ment company Mimaki USA announces that it has signed a distribution agreement with the Netherlands-based Coldenhove Papier, a global supplier of paper products. Coldenhove was founded in 1661 and has been an inde- pendent, family-owned paper mill since. It serves a variety of markets, including making high-tech, digital sublimation transfer paper. All papers in the company's Jetcol line, including HTR, HS, and TA lines of transfer media in all roll widths will be available for all Mimaki TS Series dye sublimation printers, including the TS30-1300 entry-level printer, TS300P-1300 production printer, TS500P-3200 super wide printer, and the TS500-1800 model. Onyx Now Supports Océ Colorado 1640 UVgel Printer SGP Launches Peer-to-Peer Program The Sayville, New York-based Sustainable Green Printing Partnership, a nonprofit organization that provides sus- tainability certification in the graphics communication industry, announces the beginning of its next peer-to- peer program. The SGP developed this program to walk printing facili- ties step by step towards becoming SGP certified, provid- ing them with all the necessary templates and resources. The program is open to all no matter what kind of print processes you use. If you would like to participate, please contact Marci Kinter at Salt Lake City-based Onyx Graphics, a developer of RIP software and workflow systems for the signage and commercial graphics industry, announces that its software will be driving the new Océ Colorado 1640, which uses radically new UVgel inks. The companies say that the combination of the printer's automation features and UVgel technology, combined with the upcoming Onyx 12.2 release, will result in low total cost of operation, accelerating return on investment for the user. Onyx Graphics says it has custom-built this driver to include a new user interface to support the printer's multi-roll func- tionality, and simplified page size and media handling. The company says its software provides all of this while offering a custom device experience including easily visible ink levels, printer status and media information. ONYX 12.2 software will be released for ONYX Thrive, ONYX ProductionHouse, ONYX PosterShop and ONYX RIPCenter RIP software packages.
